In 2018, Derby Street set out to bring an exciting work of art to the property. In collaboration with Boston Art, the team brainstormed ways to create a bold, engaging mural that could serve as the backdrop for the activities and programs taking place on what would eventually become The Green. It needed to feel classic and charming, with a little twist; something that would capture the sense of family and fun that is part of every great Derby day. That’s when the idea for a giant, wood-paneled Wagoneer was born.

The Woody is as nostalgic as it gets, and Studio Fresh – a creative team that specializes in custom hand-painted murals, and the artistic talent behind our Woody Wall – decided to add a seasonal spin. The Woody gets a playful new “topper” several times a year. Can you guess what’s next?
