Summer Thursdays 2024

Thursday is the new Friday! Join us on The Green every Thursday for weekly kids’ events and activities. Enjoy room to play, sit, relax, and unwind in the fresh air and sunshine while the little ones enjoy activities all summer long.

TICKETS are required for children for all events. Caregivers do not need a ticket. We will not be accepting walk-ins due to capacity, so please be sure to sign-up in advance. Ticket proceeds from select events will benefit various community organizations. If you purchased a ticket and are no longer able to attend, please request a refund at least 24 hours before the event to make room for another child.

In the event of rain or extreme heat, events may be canceled, moved, or postponed. Please look out for an e-mail regarding event changes or stay up to date by following @derbystshops.

• May 2 – 10:30-11am: Singalong with Elmo and Cookie Monster: TICKETS
  Join us on The Green  to jam out to your favorite Sesame Street beats with a live set by DJ Carl and Elmo & Cookie Monster themselves! 
• May 9 – 10:30-11:30am: Sensational Storytime & Yoga with Arc of the South Shore: TICKETS
  Join Arc of the South Shore for a magical story time & yoga class that brings A book to life. Each family will receive a complimentary take-home sensory book kit. This event is inclusive and sensory-friendly. This month’s featured book is “I Love Mom”.  
• May 16 – 10:30-11am: Music with Mama Steph: TICKETS
  Enjoy a baby and toddler-friendly live musical performance by everyone’s favorite South Shore singer-songwriter, Mama Steph. 
• May 30 – 10-11am: Pop-up playtime and caregiver meetup: TICKETS
  Calling all moms & caregivers! Meet us on The Green for a pop-up play space with curated toys & games by Knucklebones! Pop by anytime during this 1-hour playtime so your little ones can let loose! Meet a new mom friend or caregiver, connect with one another, and enjoy coffee on us.

• June 13 – 9-9:45am: Sing Explore Create Infant Music & Wellness Class: TICKETS
  A music therapist from Sing Explore Create, LLC will lead you through singing, dancing, and play activities that promote healthy infant development and bonding with your baby. Walk away with some new play ideas and ways to integrate music into your baby’s daily routine, as well as simple music and relaxation techniques that can help you handle some of the more challenging moments of caring for your little one.  
• June 13 – 10am-10:45am: Sing Explore Create Toddler Music & Wellness Class: TICKETS
  Connect with your toddler or preschooler through music in this group that encourages creativity and lays the foundation for a lifelong love of the arts. Parents will be encouraged to jump into the creative process with their child as we sing, dance, and play. Led by a music therapist from Sing Explore Create, LLC, you’ll walk away with new play ideas that also help boost your child’s health and well-being.
• June 13 – 11:30am-12pm: Scratch Art Fun with Children’s Art Classes Hanover: TICKETS
  Children’s Art Classes instructors will walk students through multiple scratch art projects. Let your kiddo’s imagination fly when creating these colorful bookmarks, masks, and more! *This class is best for ages 4-12.
• June 20 – 10-11am: Boston Mom’s Wicked Good Playdate & Music with South Shore Conservatory: TICKETS
  We’re partnering with Boston Mom’s for another Wicked Good Playdate! Join us on The Green for kid-friendly Music and let the kids dance & run free while caregivers meet & mingle. The first 50 moms or caregivers in attendance will receive a swag bag of goodies.

Led by a music therapist from Sing Explore Create, LLC, your whole family will walk away with fun and creative strategies you can use to boost your health and well-being at home!
