Summer Thursdays 2023

Thursday is the new Friday! Join us on The Green every Thursday for weekly kids’ events and activities. Enjoy room to play, sit, relax, and unwind in the fresh air and sunshine while the little ones enjoy activities all summer long.  

TICKETS are required for children for most events unless otherwise noted. Caregivers do not need a ticket. Your $5 donation will benefit Cardinal Cushing Centers, A Place 2 Rise, and various other community organizations. Tickets for each event will be released the week prior. If you purchased a ticket and are no longer able to attend, please request a refund to make room for another child.

In the event of rain or extreme heat, events will be canceled. You will be notified of the cancellation via an Eventbrite e-mail, or stay up to date by following @derbystshops.

• May 4 – POSTPOSTED: Singalong with Elmo & Cookie Monster
• May 11 – 11am-12pm: Singalong with Elmo & Cookie Monster + Facepainting: TICKETS
  Jam out to your favorite Sesame Street beats with a live set by DJ Carl and Elmo & Cookie Monster themselves, and enjoy facepainting by Art on the Spot. 
• May 18 – 11am-11:30am: Music with Mama Steph: TICKETS
  Enjoy a baby and toddler-friendly live musical performance by everyone’s favorite South Shore singer-songwriter, Mama Steph
• May 25 – 12-1pm: Cones & Crafts: TICKETS
  Enjoy ice cream from Nona’s Ice cream Truck and a cone-themed crafted by Sugar & Shears.
• June 1 – 11am-noon: Bubbles & Beats: TICKETS
  Rock out and roam on The Green to a live DJ set from DJ Wyatt, complete with bubble wands for all.
• June 8 – 10am-1pm: Photos with your Bestie: **CANCELLED
  June 15 – 11am-12pm: Family Drum Circle with South Shore Conservatory: TICKETS
• Join us for an inclusive, interactive drumming experience for the whole family. This engaging session encourages teamwork and community building, fostering confidence and well-being through a creative, hands-on process. No previous experience necessary! All drums and percussion provided.
• June 22 – 11am-1pm: Face Painting and Balloon Animals: TICKETS ARE NOT REQUIRED 
  Pickup lunch from your favorite Derby eatery and enjoy complimentary face painting and balloon animals as you picnic.
• July 13 – 11am-noon: Live Music with Peter Mundt & Wicked Good Playdate with Boston MOMS: Gather on The Green for fun mom + kid entertainment including a kid’s jam session with Peter Mundt & The South Shore Conservatory,  the chance to meet other local moms, and some wicked good swag bags for the first 50 moms who sign up.   Join Over The Moon Parenting for their beloved music & movement class with your little ones. Registration is required and details will be posted shortly.
