GENERAL INFORMATION

What is the Insider program?

Derby Street Insider is a mobile-app loyalty program designed to unlock a world of rewards, exclusive perks, and tailored experiences from your favorite brands, all in one place.

How does it work?

Visit and shop to earn points, then visit and shop to redeem rewards. Yes, it’s that simple!

Points unlock $5, $10, $20, and $50 dollars-off rewards within the Insider mobile app (the “App”). Rewards can be redeemed at participating businesses at Derby Street.  Each reward indicates the required number of points needed for redemption.

How do I join?

Joining the Derby Street Insider program is easy (and free)! You can create an account by downloading the App via Apple App Store or Google Play and using the prompts to register through the App. *You must be 18+ to join.

What are the membership levels?

There are 3 membership levels – Insider, VIP, and VVIP.

Insider – You automatically become an Insider once you download the App and create an account.

VIP – You can become a VIP by linking a valid credit card in the app. VIP members receive all the benefits of an Insider, plus earn one point for every dollar spent at participating businesses at Derby Street Shops and enjoy early sign-ups and exclusive invites to select events.

VVIP – You can advance from VIP to VVIP by earning 2700 points within a calendar year.  VVIP members receive all the benefits of a VIP Member, plus accelerated earning with two points for every dollar spent at participating businesses at Derby Street Shops.  VVIPs also gain even more access to exclusive perks and events. Once you achieve VVIP status, you’ll hold this status for the remainder of the year plus the next full calendar year.

The more you use the App through visits and purchases at participating businesses at Derby Street Shops, the sooner you will advance to VIP and VVIP levels, unlocking more benefits and greater levels of access and exclusive perks!

 

EARNING POINTS

How can I start earning points in the App?

There are three primary ways to earn points in the Insider program: Visits, Dollars Spent, and Extra point activities.

Visits

Start earning points as soon as you arrive at Derby Street Shops! Simply open the App on-property with your location services enabled, and you’ll earn “check-in” points just for being there!

*The minimum time required to earn points for your visit is 15 minutes. Maximum one check-in per day.

Dollars spent

The best way to maximize your rewards is by linking your credit card in our App before you shop! Simply dine and shop at participating businesses at Derby Street Shops, pay with the same card registered in the App, and watch the points roll in— there’s no need to show the App at checkout.

Extra points

Members can also earn Insider points by completing qualifying activities (when available), such as completing in-app quizzes, attending specific events and making qualifying purchases that satisfy disclosed promotional terms. Qualifying activities will be updated periodically in the App.

You can earn Insider points for purchases made at these businesses at Derby Street Shops, as well as redeem Insider rewards, at these businesses at Derby Street Shops. Check back frequently for more retailers being added!

What’s the difference between Total Points Earned and Points Available to Redeem?

Total Points Earned is used to track year-to-date progress toward VVIP status (requires linking a credit card and earning 2700 points within a calendar year).  Points Available To Redeem represents the number of points that you’re able to convert into a corresponding dollars-off Insider reward.

Is there a limit on points I can earn with each purchase?

Yes. The maximum number of Insider points earned per transaction is 500 points.

Do points expire?

Yes.  Available points eligible for redeeming expire 365 days after they are earned.

What happens to my points when I make a return?

If you return item(s) related to a purchase where you earned Insider points, points received for those item(s) will be deducted from your points balance at the time of the return.  Additionally, your VVIP status may be impacted if your return causes your year-to-date point balance to fall below 2700.

 

CARD LINKING

Which credit cards can be linked?

You may link an eligible Visa or Mastercard credit card in the Insider app.  Other credit card companies are not supported at this time, but please check back for additional cards being added over time.

Please note – not all Visa or Mastercard credit cards are eligible for registration as a linked card.  Please see Derby Street Insider terms & conditions for examples of exclusions.

Derby Street Insider reserves the right to remove your VIP or VVIP status, should your credit card expire, and/or should you remove all eligible credit cards from your account.

Why does Insider need my credit card linked?

The card-linking feature enables you to earn Insider points at participating businesses at Derby Street Shops, without carrying a separate membership card.  Derby Street Insider uses your linked card to receive information from the card networks on any qualifying purchases made at participating businesses at Derby Street Shops.

Is my credit card information secure?

Yes.  Cards are enrolled securely and directly with each payment network (i.e. Visa, Mastercard).  A unique identifier, a token, representing your enrolled card will be used, in order to monitor transactions and ensure your progress in the program with earned points.  That unique identifier is what will be shared to enable participation in the program. We never see your credit card number or related details.

Derby Street Insider contains links to third-party websites, applications, and services that are not owned or operated by Derby Street Shopping Center or Insider Loyalty LLC (“Third-Party Services”). Separate terms and conditions apply to Third-Party Services. Please read those terms and conditions carefully before accessing any Third-Party Services.

Can I link multiple credit cards to my Insider account?

Yes! You may link multiple credit cards within the App.

Can I earn points if I use contactless payments?

Yes, provided that the credit card(s) used in contactless payment (e.g. Apple Pay, Google Pay) must be eligible credit card(s) linked to your Derby Street Insider account to earn points.

Can I use cash or check to earn points?

No. Points for dollars spent can only be earned by making purchases with the credit card(s) linked in the App at participating businesses on-site.

Can I earn points on mobile orders or online purchases?
No. To earn points, purchases must be made at participating businesses at their Derby Street Shops location, using the eligible credit card(s) linked to your Insider account. Dollars spent to purchase items for pick-up or delivery in third-party platforms (e.g. DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, etc) do not count toward points earned.  Similarly, you cannot earn points for purchases made online or in a brand-specific app for a participating business.

 

REDEEMING POINTS

What reward levels are available, and how many points are needed?

Points unlock dollars-off rewards within the Insider mobile app.  The reward levels, as well as the points needed for each, are as follows:

  • $5 (200 points)
  • $10 (400 points)
  • $20 (800 points)
  • $50 (2,000 points)

Please note – each participating business may set its own minimum purchase requirement, at the time of redemption, in order for you to unlock the reward (e.g. $5 reward at Brand A requires $50 min purchase).  For specific requirements by participating business, please visit the Rewards Center in the App.

How do I convert points into dollars-off rewards at Derby Street?

Redeeming Insider points occurs within the App, during the check-out process at Derby Street.  Follow these simple steps, once you have enough Insider points to convert into a reward:

  1. Decide which participating business you’d like to redeem at in the Reward Center in the App.
  2. Visit the participating business, confirm all purchase requirements for the Insider reward will be satisfied by your purchase, and return to the Reward Center at the time of check-out.
  3. Slide to activate the Insider reward and immediately present the active reward screen to the in-store associate. The active reward screen will be revealed for 3 minutes.
  4. Associates at checkout will be prompted to apply your dollars-off reward to your purchase, ensuring any minimum spend or other requirements are met, once shown the countdown clock on the active reward screen in the App.

*Rewards for each business can only be redeemed at their location on-property (not online or at other locations).

Are there any restrictions on the types of purchases that I can apply rewards to?

See individual reward terms displayed on each Insider reward in the App for any restrictions by retailer (e.g. minimum spend required, cannot be combined with any other in-store offer or reward, etc.).  Please note, per Massachusetts state law – rewards may be applied to food but not alcoholic beverages.  Other exclusions may apply.

Is there a limit on how many rewards I can redeem at a particular business?

Yes, when redeeming Insider points, each member can redeem rewards at each participating business up to 4x within each calendar year. Reward amounts ($5, $10, $20, $50-off) vary by retailer.

Can my points be exchanged for cash?

No. Insider points carry no cash value.

 

ADDITIONAL POINTS SUPPORT

Why didn’t I earn points for my purchase?

  • How long ago did you make the purchase? Points are added to your Insider account within 60 minutes of making a purchase.
  • Was the purchase made before you linked a credit card to your account? You must link an eligible credit card before making a purchase. It is not possible to earn points for a purchase retroactively, if you link an eligible credit card after making a purchase on-site at a participating business.
  • Did you make a purchase using a credit card not linked to your account? You must use the eligible Visa or Mastercard credit card linked to your Insider account for the purchase to earn points in the app. The following Visa and Mastercard cards are not eligible for credit card linking (not an exhaustive list, subject to change):
    • Visa Buxx
    • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Visa cards
    • EBT Visa cards
    • Branded gift cards
    • Other Visa-branded cards whose transactions are not processed through the Visa U.S.A. payment system
  • Was your purchase made at Derby Street? To earn points, purchases must be made at participating businesses at their Derby Street Shops location, using the eligible credit card(s) linked to your Insider account. Dollars spent to purchase items for pick-up or delivery in third-party platforms (e.g. DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, etc) do not count toward points earned. Similarly, you cannot earn points for purchases made online or in a brand-specific app for a participating business.

Note – Purchases made at non-participating businesses at Derby Street Shops do not earn Insider points.

 

Why didn’t I earn points for my visit?

  • How long did you spend during your visit at Derby Street? Check-in points are only awarded on visits lasting at least 15 minutes.
  • Are your location services on? Mobile location services must be on while using the App to earn points for checking-in during each visit.
  • Did you already check-in today? Check-in points are only awarded 1x per day.

 

ACCOUNT HELP

How do I change my password?

You may change your password at any time by visiting the login screen in the App and selecting “forgot password”.  This will generate an automated email to your inbox, which you can use to reset your password.

How do I cancel my membership?

You can request to cancel your Derby Street Insider membership at any time by sending an email directly to DerbyStreetInsider@wsdevelopment.com.  Please allow 7 business days for your account cancellation to be completed.
